Why does a fat woman die?

How to determine that a plant is dying?

Signs of plant death:

  • The very first and surest sign is dropping leaves. An adult money tree can periodically drop leaves from old branches, but if the process has covered the entire plant and new leaves die off, the crassula must be saved.
  • The trunk of the plant has become soft and flabby - this is also a sure indicator of an excess of moisture.
  • The appearance of dark spots on the leaves suggests that the money tree received a sunburn.
  • The leaves dry and wrinkle - and this is already insufficient watering. Check your soil moisture more often!
  • White plaque on the leaves - a pointer to the appearance of a tick. If it smells of mold, it is powdery mildew. Treatment required.

Not to be confused with a light silver coating that appears on old leaves as a result of abrasion of the skin of the plant!

  • Leaves may turn red. This should not be scared - as a rule, this happens in bright light. It is enough to remove the plant away from the window and the green color will be restored.
  • Too small leaves indicate a lack of nutrition. The problem is solved by top dressing, while the content of phosphorus and potassium should prevail over nitrogen.

Reasons for its withering

Causes of plant wilt:

  • Watering. Excessive watering causes root decay, leaf decay and plant death. Remember, fat girl is succulent! A lack of moisture is safer for her than an excess.
  • Heat. Prolonged heat can also cause leaf dropping. After a while, they will grow back. The difference from the first case is that the stem retains firmness and juiciness. And the fallen leaves have a yellow tint.
  • Sun shortage. During a period of deficiency of the sun (autumn - winter), the plant may be sick due to lack of lighting. Try to keep the money tree on the brightest window, or use artificial lighting. Strongly advised not to keep the money tree on the north side.
  • Disease:
    1. Fusarium rot - the disease is also a consequence of excessive watering. The horses rot, the plant becomes flabby and lethargic. Young shoots die off quickly.
    2. Various fungi and bacteria cause spots on the leaves of brown, yellow spots. Such leaves should be removed, the plant treated with special preparations.
    3. Powdery mildew - whitish coating affecting leaves, has a smell of mold.
  • Pests:
    1. Scale - manifests itself in the form of yellow and brown spots on the leaves.
    2. Spider mite - small bugs of white or red color. First, small yellow dots appear on the leaves, then dry brown scab.
    3. The mealybug resembles white cotton wool on the roots or leaves of a rosula.
    4. Thrips - striking in the summer in hot weather. Leaves turn yellow and fall. The plant is sprinkled with small oblong bugs.

What if the crassula dies?

  1. Set watering mode. The money tree should be watered moderately as the soil in the pot dries. In summer, once a week is enough. In winter, in the absence of a number of central heating appliances, you can reduce watering to 1-2 times a month. If after a couple of hours after watering in the pot saucer there is water left, it is better to drain it.

The measure is effective in the presence of pests that affect the underground part of the plant. Dead roots are cut and sprinkled with crushed activated carbon. Plants are transplanted into new land (a mixture of land, peat, sand, 2: 1: 2 ratio) with good drainage (expanded clay, not less than 2 cm). Pot volume is best reduced. There must be a hole in the bottom.
  3. Water for irrigation. It should be at room temperature, defended. Cold water can also cause the plant to die.
  4. Disease control. In case of defeat by fusarium rot or powdery mildew, plants should be transplanted into new soil, apply the correct watering and process the money tree with Fundazol or Fitosporin.
  5. Sunburn. Do not keep the flower in the scorching sun in summer. This can cause burns to the plant and lead to blackening and dropping of foliage. With such signs, remove the pot with the plant in the shade.
  6. With pest:
    • A spider mite attacked - process the leaves, use Aktara, Fitoverm, Agravertin. Folk remedies are also used: tobacco dust infusion, soap solution.
    • The scabbard can be destroyed by rubbing the leaves with alcohol or kerosene. The second way is to treat with soapy water, then rinse with clean water. Of the drugs, Fitoverm will help.
    • Mealybug - just rinse the plant and treat the affected area with alcohol or one of the drugs: Aktara, Thiofos, Fitoverm. The roots of the plant must be washed and lowered into the solution for 15 minutes.
    • Thrips - leaves can be sprayed with infusion of garlic (1 teaspoon of chopped garlic in 1 cup of water) or with Fitoverm, Karate preparations.

What to do if a fat woman is frozen on a windowsill?

This will immediately become apparent in the appearance of the plant. The branches of a frozen plant will fade, blacken, become watery. All dead parts of the plant must be cut. Sprinkle with charcoal powder. If the soil has also cooled down and there are fears of freezing the roots, the plants need to be removed from the soil, inspected, cut and transplanted. Spray well with Epin. If the green cuttings have survived, you can cut them and root them, thus obtaining a new plant.
